The "Niramaya Health Scheme" is being implemented for intellectually disabled persons under the aegis of the National Trust, Government of India. This scheme provides health insurance coverage up to Rs. 1 lakh by paying a premium of Rs. 500. It covers medical, surgical, therapeutic, dental, external injury assessments, blood tests, medicines, and transportation claims. The implementation of this scheme is extended through registered organizations under the National Trust, facilitating the process through District Disability Rehabilitation Centers (DDRC) submissions. The application for the Niramaya card, premium payment, card distribution, notifying beneficiaries of received cards, providing a soft copy on mobile, assisting in filing claims, ensuring completeness of documentation, and submitting it until the outcome is achieved are all part of the free service provided at the district disability rehabilitation centers.
